In 2021 the Dutch Brain Olympiad will take place online to cope with the challenges the current Covid-19 epidemic is bringing us. The International Brain Bee organization, who organizes and hosts the world championships, has made this decision for all participating countries. Depending on further developments regarding the epidemic, hopefully the 2021 Brain Bee world championships will take place ‘live’ in San Diego, in California, America.   

This means that in 2021 we will not have regional preliminary round, but instead we will have one national Dutch Brain Olympiad championship day. The fact that it will be hosted online comes with the advantage that this year high school students from all over the Netherlands can partake in the national championship, which is planned for January/February 2021.
